Now that the first Release Candidate of Thunderbird 3 is out, and because I´m a glutton for new software versions I hazarded an upgrade to the new version. I love what I see so far, but there are a couple if bigtime gotchas that others might want to know about......

We are all plagued by email scams constantly but sadly many still fall prey to their tactics. The last received here is a new tactic in the domain registration type of scam and this notice will hopefully save you the trouble of wasting $75 and possibly much more trouble....

The plan surrounds the existing systems DKIM and SPF and from a quick read seems to basically be an attempt to back and promote these existing systems with a few add-ons. To quote the dmarc.org web site "A group of leading organizations came together in the spring of 2011 to collaborate on a method for combating fraudulent email at Interenet-scale."...
