Something strange in latest version
I´ve recently installed 6.0.0.941 and have found a strange gremlin in it:
Just after it has chimed the hour (I´m only chiming the hour) I get a series of thumps that are using the same .wav as the one used by my Lavasoft Ad-aware anti-spyware software when an attempt is made to load a tracker or other recognised undesirable cookie. I don´t get a message telling me of a specific download attempt but the use of the tone is worrying. Any idea what could be causiing it? WHat has changed in World Time that might cause this? |

I had the same problem and in comparing v5 with v6, I found that the name of the wav file is wrong in v6. It should be BIGben.wav; it is ben.wav.
Hope this helps! Lance |

OK - I´m embarrassed at my own stupidity. If I´d bothered to count the strange sounds I´d have realised it was chiming the hour as a result of the confusion during the upgrade process. If I´d bothered to test the .wav I´d have discovered that there is a problem with it - it sounds the same as the spyware warning but that appears to be all.
What I don´t understand is why it should sound like that rather than a Big Ben chime - this .wav is in the WT directory after all. |
