Time Sync failure, virus problem
I also experienced the Time Sync failure, and the data base update feature would hang up WT. McAfee antivirus reported some kind of Trojan horse virus shortly after the download and install. After cleaning the virus and rebooting the system, WT ran normally. I´m wondering if there´s a bad .dll in WT?
I´m running XP Pro behind a firewall, with fairly elaborate virus checking, high browser securitiy levels, etc. NB NB |

Re: Time Sync failure, virus problem
Is it possible that Worldtime could be attempting to access a port used by a type of trojean horse and McAfee mis-interprets access to the port as a hacker attempting to connect to a trojean horse?
If anyone could list the ports here, it may be a good idea to open them on McAfee, assuming you have the firewall running. If it was detected with the McAfee anti-virus agent then that indeed is very strange. |
